The other day I asked you how things were going. Thank you for responding with such thoughtful words, concerns, and exciting ideas. Here are a few comments and thoughts from the conversation:
I’d like to take the opportunity to say that one should enjoy the things that one can do while you’re able to – so often we take the daily things for granted. Work may sometimes seem like a problem but when you just can’t work (and I couldn’t for nearly 8 years) then you realise what a priviledge and a blessing it is to be able to work!

It feels good to take things in stride and to do things because you want to. It feels bad to get overwhelmed and emotional, to feel alone, to lose faith in people, to give your power away, to do things out of obligation.

Here’s a link I found recently that’s thought provoking in a way. Thought it might interest you as well.

I am excited about my wife, Julie, of thirty years of marriage (yes in July) and our three grown up kids who are all great human beings.

I quit my ‘paid’ job about a year ago and am fortunate enough to be able to just do volunteer work for a while. I try to think about the value that volunteering can bring to people and how to make a more lasting impact every day in this way. I’d like to see more people see this type of ‘work’ as having value. I’d like to see more emphasis on the long term value of people doing positive things (not yelling and screaming at each other….not expressing hate or intolerance…not being exclusive etc…). I don’t see myself as a “do-gooder”….I just enjoy helping people and being happy and having a positive outlook.

I appreciate everyone’s responses and look forward to reading more about how you are out there changing, appreciating, and deeply experiencing the world!
I’m rather worried about my future, I’m still young(19) and I wonder about what comes next after I’m done with uni. But I’m beginning to appreciate my friends even more than before and I’m going out of my way to meet new people. Its a great feeling…
Sidney~ I feel so much of life is about appreciating what we really have while we’re here (friends, life, nature, etc). If you focus on that then “what comes next” will be a logical extension of what you enjoy.
