Theme: Note to self

After several months of writing, I realize that one theme of this blog is ‘notes to self.’  By this I mean that each post either 1) reminds me to act out what I write about or 2) helps me clarify some observation I’ve had about the world.  Each thought is considered deeply, clarified as best as possible, and typed up over the course of a few minutes or several hours (yes, sometimes).  Everything I share is based on a truth I’ve experienced or felt.  Some bigger ideas which may read like theory are extrapolations based on what I’ve observed or experienced.  Of course, I publish them because I think they can be universally applied and I can’t think of anything better to share with the world.

There are many ways to release your message into the world.  And in today’s world it is easier than ever to shape your thoughts in the crucible of action while sharing them with the world.

I have been honored over the past several months to meet loads of interesting people who have engaged their passion.  There are too many to list them all here but I hope to continue highlighting them all as I develop this site.  The message these people silently offer is: consider what you truly love to do and see if there is at least a small way you can bring that passion to the world – a way to publicly share your ‘notes to self.’

It could be a business (like the Bob Sloan’s top-notch video production firm), a grassroots initiative (like Ivan’s grassroots campaign to rescue domestic animals – over 2000 to date), volunteering (like Burners Without Borders), specialized coaching (like Carrie McCarthy’s Style Statement which helps people express outwardly their inner style), or anything else you could possibly imagine.

Think of the one small thing you always wish you could do… maybe that’s the thing you should start with… maybe that will give you the momentum to launch your next great idea… perhaps that will be your “note to self” that’s worth sharing?

Note to you: Every now and then I feel the need to say thank you for reading.  Thank you!  If you’re sharing your passion with the world in any way I would love to know about it and if you have any ‘notes to self’ you’d like to share, send them my way!

The “note to you” was very helpful. I decided to use today to simply thank my readers. Thanks for the reminder.
